About Koforidua Technical University
Koforidua Technical University was founded in 1997 as one of the ten Technical Universities established in every region in Ghana. The university offers several academic and professional courses to the students of Ghana and to international students.

Admission Requirements in Koforidua Technical University
Bachelor of Technology (B.TECH) Admission Requirements
The admission requirements for Bachelor of Technology programmes will depend on the course you’re going for
Generally, you will require a Higher National Diploma from a course relevant to the field of study from any recognized University with a minimum of 2nd class lower division.
General Entry Requirements for Higher National Diploma Programmes
SSSCE/WASSCE Candidates
- SSSCE Candidates: Passes (A – D) in three core subjects namely: Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science/Social Studies and must possess a minimum of D in any three of the passes relevant to the area of specialization.
- WASSCE Candidates: Passes (A – D7) in three core subjects namely: Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science/Social Studies and must possess a minimum of C6 in any three of the passes relevant to the area of specialization.
Note: The aggregate of the six subjects must not exceed 39 for WASSCE and 24 for SSSCE
GBCE/’O’/A’LEVEL/ABCE Applicants
- Five GBCE / GCE ‘O’ Level credit passes (including Mathematics and English Language) and at least two GCE ‘A’ level / ABCE passes including General Paper.
Applicants From Technical Schools (Certificate II Applicants)
- Passes in three subjects including Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science
DBS Applicants
- 4 WASSCE/SSSCE passes including Mathematics and English Language plus at least three passes in relevant DBS subjects
Teacher’s Certificate
- Candidate must have a three-year post-secondary certificate or four-year certificate ‘A’ with at least two years teaching experience, plus three (3) GCE O-Level or WASSCE/SSSCE passes in relevant elective subjects.
Mature Applicants
- Candidates must be twenty-five years old and must present proof of age with any valid documentary proof of date of birth which is five years old at the time of application.
- Candidates must pass a written examination in Mathematics, English Language, and General Knowledge that will be conducted by the University.
