Things to consider when buying a laptop in Ghana
Operating System (OS): Windows vs. Mac
The two top operating systems in laptops are the Mac OS and the Windows OS. Apple laptops (known as Macbooks) run on the Mac OS, while many other brands produce models that run on the Windows OS.
For those living in Ghana, Windows is the best OS to go for. It allows for greater flexibility and runs most software packages available in Ghana.
Size
There are three laptop sizes – full size, medium size, and mini laptops.
The size of a laptop determines some of its features like the number of USB ports, CD/DVD drives and so on. Full-size laptops have more features, but they are pretty cumbersome to move around. Medium and Mini laptops cost less than their full-size counterparts, but they have fewer features and weaker specifications (Memory size, processor speed, etc).

Whether you’re a light or heavy laptop user, you will need to get a laptop with a fast processor speed. Stick to processors with speeds above 1.5GHz and only focus on processor types from Core i5 and above. These options are usually more expensive, but they offer better performance.
Battery Life
Some laptops can run for as long as 8 hours while others can go on for longer periods. Usually, the battery life of a laptop is directly proportional to its price. This means that you will have to spend more to get a laptop with long-lasting battery life.
