The Eastern Region of Ghana is located in the southern part of the country and is one of the country’s sixteen administrative areas. Lake Volta borders the eastern area, and to the north by Bono and Ashanti region, to the west by Ashanti region, and to the south by Central region and Greater Accra Region.
Koforidua is the administrative center of the Eastern Region. This region is characterized by high-capacity electricity generation due to the presence of the Akosombo dam in the territory’s eastern outskirts. It is also home to several notable schools in Ghana.
