The Ghana University College (TGUC)

This university started in the year 2006 and was initially known as Ghana Telecom University College. It was founded by Ghana Telecom, the national telecommunications company. It is ranked the top private University in Ghana. It tops the private university in Ghana list due to the good facilities that are used to produce competent graduates of the various courses, especially engineering and computer technology courses.

The university provides bachelor’s degrees and graduate programs, particularly in Telecommunications Engineering and Information and Communications Technologies. It also offers certificate programs, with courses that provide credit for the bachelor’s degree, and other professional development seminars and workshops.

GTUC’s main campus is in the Tesano section of Accra, Republic of Ghana. A second campus has been opened in nearby Abeka, a nearby Accra suburb, and a satellite campus at Nungua. Apart from Accra, there are satellite campuses in Kumasi, Takoradi, Koforidua & Ho.

Ashesi University

One of the private universities is Ashesi University. It is a non-profit liberal arts college which is situated in Ghana. The university offers a four-year duration bachelors program which is grounded in a liberal core curriculum, comprising majors in Business.

The school was established in 2002. Ashesi has professionals who offer quality training to graduates in the industrial sector. Hence their slogan “To educate ethical, entrepreneurial leaders in Africa; cultivate critical thinking within students with a concern for others and courage to transform our Africa continent”, little wonder it is not surprising it achieved so much. Ashesi is rated second best university in Information technology education.

The university offers quite a number of courses and it is popularly known to be the best after Ghana Technology University college.

Ashesi tuition fees for 2016/2017 academic year which also covers textbooks are $3,758 per semester.

Presbyterian University College

The Presbyterian University College is both a private and public owned university. The university was established in 23rd November 2003 by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. It was inaugurated on the 27th March 2004 by the then President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor. The school is located in the Abetifi-kwahu region in the Eastern Region of Ghana. It emerges number three in the top ten best Ghana private universities. It is one of the new universities in Ghana granted accreditation by the National Accreditation Board. It has been graded one of Ghana best private universities. This institution is known for its leadership role. It’s a complete university that does a great job in different faculties like medicine, business, and sciences.

Valley View University 

The Valley View University is another nice private university located in the Greater Accra Region Oyibi, Accra of Ghana. It comprises a worldwide system of over 100 tertiary institution. It was founded by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The university first kicked off as the Adventist Missionary College and was formerly located in Bekwai-Ashanti. It was then moved in 1983 to Adentan near Accra where it operated in rented facilities until it was transferred to its present site.

The university was renamed in 1989 as Valley View College. It was granted national accreditation in 1995 by The National Accreditation Board (Ghana) therefore giving the university the permission to award her own degrees. hence, Valley View University made history. It became the first private institution in Ghana to be granted national accreditation.

Wisconsin International University College Ghana 

This university is one of the oldest established private universities in Ghana. It is located at Agbogba Junction close to Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. It was founded in the year 2000. it is accredited by the National Accreditation Board as a university college. The Wisconsin international university college is affiliated to the University of Cape Coast, University of Ghana and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. This university was one of the universities that powered international relations by teaching foreign languages. Eleven Winscon University students were awarded by the Chinese embassy for vibrant performance in the Chinese language on the14th of November, 2017.

Accra Institute Of Technology 

This school is an independent, technology focused research university situated in Accra Ghana. Accra Institute of Technology is affiliated to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Open University Malaysia. The university is made up of six schools and three institutes. AIT as it is also known is accredited by the National Accreditation Board of the Ministry of Education to provide campus based and Open University courses in various fields. The Accra Institute of Technology has a large number of distinguished world-class academic personalities as its trustees. the board of management collectively has over 200 years of experience in university research work. This is why it has focused mainly on technology research work.

The campus based programs offered in the school at the undergraduate level include engineering, computer science, information technology and business administration.

Central University College

The seventh on the list of top ten best Universities in Ghana is the Central University college. It is presently the biggest among the private universities in Ghana. It was founded by International Central Gospel Church as a training center for pastors in the year 1988. It has had a number of name changes to date. The University is vast in various faculties like applied sciences and theology, the school of business. Regent University College of Science and Technology ranked eighth in the field of engineering, advancing science, and technology. It is among the best private universities in Ghana as regards technology in the 21st century. The university has done a great job in producing graduates with capacity and understanding of the needs and the solution in technological areas. It is known to have produced skillful and talented leaders who are agents of progress.

Methodist University College Ghana 

Methodist University College Ghana also known as MUCG is mounted on a 12-hectare land located in the south region of Dansoman, Accra.the university has two campuses; one at Tema and the other at Wenchi. The university offers more than thirty programs for undergraduate, graduate and professional students.

Christian Service University College 

This university is one of the few private universities that have been accredited by the theological education council within Africa. Christian Service University College is one of the best teaching and research centers. due to its commitment to empowering the youth for sustainable development. The university was credited as one of the best in Ghana.
