The University of Ghana is one of the most prestigious higher institutions on the continent. The university offers provisional admission to both local and international students.
The University also provides financial support to undergraduate students of Ghanaian origin via the Student Financial Aid Office (SFAO). There are currently over 1,500 international students from about 71 countries enrolled in the university.

Entry requirements
The entry requirements for the 2019/2020 session has been divided into two, the General Entry requirements and the specific requirements for each college. Stated below are the general minimum entry requirements:
- The applicant must have a minimum of credits (A1 – C6 in WASSCE and A – D in SSCE) in English, Mathematics, Integrated Science (for Science related studies), Social Studies (for non-science related courses).
- Credits in a minimum of three elective subjects in science for disciplines in Science or Agricultural Sciences.
- Credits in a minimum of three elective subjects in General arts or business for non- science-related
